Comprehensive Treatment of Tension-type Headache
Choi Yun-Ju

Abstract
Tension-type headache (TTH) is the most common form of headache in the general population. It rarely requires specific medical attention, because the pain and disability burden are milder than migraine. Most of TTH has been successfully treated with simple analgesics. Tricyclic antidepressants and electromyography (EMG) biofeedback have a documented effect in prevention of TTH. The weaknesses with regard to nonpharmacological management of TTH are obvious. But increased efficacy could be obtained by a combination of nonpharmacological and pharmacological treatments. There is a need for more research in pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment possibilities of TTH.
